Two Measurements Must Match, Not One

Most people check blade diameter and stop there. That is the first mistake.

Every PipeCut blade has two critical dimensions:

  • Outer diameter (for example, 140 mm, 165 mm, 180 mm, or 190 mm): this determines the cutting depth the machine can reach.
  • Mounting bore: the central hole that fits over the machine’s arbor. A blade with the correct outer diameter but the wrong bore will not seat correctly on the spindle.

Reading Compatibility from Your Own Machine

Your machine tells you what it accepts. You do not need to guess.

Check these three sources in order:

  1. The machine’s rating plate or serial label, which often carries the blade diameter.
  2. The Technical Specifications section of your model’s product page.
  3. The machine manual, which lists the accepted blade diameters and the mounting bore together.

Note for the PipeCut 360 Pro Series 2.0: this machine’s specifications differ by supply voltage. The product page publishes both figures and labels them by voltage. Match the spec to the voltage your machine runs on.

Model-Specific Exceptions in Blade Compatibility

Cermet V155 and the PipeCut V800E

The Cermet V155 blade is designed exclusively for the PipeCut V800E. Do not fit it to any other model in the range. The V800E’s geometry and drive system are matched to this blade’s specific dimensions and tooth geometry.

TCT P Plastics Blades

The TCT P series blades are designed for cutting plastic pipe materials. They are compatible with the plastics-oriented PipeCut models and with any metal-cutting machine that explicitly lists plastic pipe in its published material compatibility. Do not assume a metal-cutting machine accepts a plastics blade without checking its published specifications.

Cut and Bevel Blades and the Pro Series and Infinity Package

The Cut and Bevel package for Pro Series and Infinity is supported by the PipeCut 360 Pro Series 2.0, the PipeCut 460 Pro Series 2.0, and the PipeCut Infinity 2.0. These discs are intended for cast iron and ductile iron cutting and beveling. They are not listed for other models in the range.

What Happens If You Fit the Wrong Blade

There are three distinct scenarios, and each has a different consequence.

A blade that will not mount. If the mounting bore does not match the machine’s arbor, the blade will not seat. This is the easiest outcome to identify and the safest, because the error is immediately visible before the machine runs.

A blade that mounts but is not rated for the material. A blade designed for plastic pipe fitted to a steel-cutting job, or vice versa, will not cut cleanly. The blade wears faster than its rated life, cut quality drops, and the finished end may not be suitable for joining.

A blade the machine is not rated for. Fitting a blade outside the diameter range published for your machine changes the operating geometry the machine was designed around. Follow the machine manual for the correct fitting procedure and accepted blade specifications. Do not operate the machine with a blade outside its published range.

In all cases, the machine manual is the reference for correct fitting. Refer to it before mounting any blade.

  1. Identify your machine model and product number. The model name and product number appear on the machine’s rating plate. Write them down before you search for a blade.
  2. Confirm the blade diameter and saw blade mounting bore from the manual. Open the manual for your specific model and locate the Technical Specifications. Note both the accepted outer diameter and the mounting bore.
  3. Confirm the pipe material you are cutting. Steel, stainless steel, copper, cast iron, plastic, and multilayer pipe each have blade families matched to them. The wrong blade family for the material reduces blade life and cut quality.
  4. Select the correct blade family. Match the blade family to your machine’s accepted diameters, mounting bore, and the pipe material.
